Luncheon (Bhati) and Celebration of Life
Following the funeral, a luncheon (Bhati) and celebration of life will be held. Please come to this event and share your stories and memories of Al to celebrate his life and the unique ways he touched each of us. Merge would love to see you in person, but you may also attend and share your memories virtually.
Date and Time: Wednesday, September 7th 12:30 - 4:30pm. Luncheon will be served when everyone returns from the cemetery.
Location: Delta Ocean Pointe Resort, Harbour Room, 100 Harbour Road, Victoria BC.
Many people have expressed a desire to attend the celebration of life for Alkarim, and Merge requests that you register so she has an idea of how many are coming so she can plan for food, venue size, and technology.
Click the button below to register. Please indicate if you will be attending the luncheon (Bhati) in person, or if you wish to attend the celebration of life event virtually.
Those who wish to attend the celebration of life virtually will have a url emailed to them as soon as we have that available.

Gone from my sight
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"
And that is dying...
